Title: Software Engineer

Reports To: Manager, Engineering
Position Summary
The Software Engineer is responsible for designing and delivering quality software features to the applications that encompass OneCause technology products. The Software Engineer is expected to work well in an Agile development environment to develop superior products. Candidates will be based in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Essential Job Functions
• Develop high quality product features to meet company objectives
• Participate in planning user stories and breaking out dev tasks
• Coordinate with other members of the team (Business Analysts, QA Analysts, Product owner, etc.) to deliver value-added product releases
• Assist with pull requests to maintain code quality through peer review
• Mentor junior team members on best practices
• Write unit and integration tests to increase code quality
• Communicate key changes made to the code base when submitting features
Other Requirements
• 3+ years in web application development, or relevant experience
• Working knowledge of a Java-based web architecture or similar stack o Java 8, Maven, Gradle, HTML, CSS, and TypeScript
• Experience with Apache Tomcat, Spring, ORM, and MySQL
• Experience developing single page applications using Angular 2.0 or higher
• Experience with data modeling and writing SQL queries and stored procedures
• Strong collaborative skills
• Self-motivated work mentality
• Demonstrates success in a small team environment
• Expresses excitement in continuous software improvement, software architecture and development practices
• Experience with continuous integration tools and source control management tools, such as Jenkins and Git
• Interest (or experience) with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration tools
• Experience developing in a microservice architecture
• Experience with other programming languages
